The State of Missouri was the number one wine producing state in the United States prior to the Civil War and a prominent wine producing state prior to Prohibition . In the 1960's, there was a resurgence in developing wineries in the state of Missouri. Representing the "First Designated Wine District" and the Missouri Weinstrasse are four family owned wineries. All Augusta MO wineries are open daily year round for tasting, tours, picnics and events.
